The Sun rose in the morning
through footpaths
on the head of the beggar
It shone and woke him up
With another day for begging
The Sun rose in the morning
through sliding windows
on the curtains of a bunglow
It shone and woke the rich man up
With another day for riches
The roads of the two crossed
on a traffic signal when the beggar
waved for money from the
glasses of the rich man's car
The Sun shone on the coin dropped
in by the rich man
The Sun shone in the hands
of the beggar
The Sun went back in the night
It had given light
One who saw through the light
didn't sleep
One who slept through the light
got up next morning
When the Sun rose again
through footpaths and curtains
