The Sun

The Sun rose in the morning
through footpaths
on the head of the beggar
It shone and woke him up
With another day for begging

The Sun rose in the morning
through sliding windows
on the curtains of a bunglow
It shone and woke the rich man up
With another day for riches

The roads of the two crossed
on a traffic signal when the beggar
waved for money from the
glasses of the rich man's car

The Sun shone on the coin dropped
in by the rich man
The Sun shone in the hands
of the beggar

The Sun went back in the night
It had given light
One who saw through the light
didn't sleep
One who slept through the light
got up next morning
When the Sun rose again
through footpaths and curtains

Abstract

One pencil, one canvass and a sketch
A sketch of thoughts that are abstract
Thoughts that only the painter understands
A painter who himself is far abstract

A rushing wind takes away the sketch
And drops it somewhere when its tired
The sketch takes form and goes on and
On to the one who longed and desired

Love can put life in abstract
Love is power that can make it alive
Then the rushing wind dare not touch it
Life is the only thing that can it drive

Me

I am a dew drop on cold winter night
I am a wave of oceanic delight!
I am a feather singing songs on breeze
I am a bird that's chirping on trees!

I am the rain dancing on earth
I am the mud then bubbling in mirth!
I am the sand sleeping on shore
I am the moon lover longing for more!

I am the free-flowing paddy's husk
I am the walk in darkening dusk!
I am the music of dulcet guitar
I am the fun of speeding car!

I am the grass ornamented with snow
I am the sky's garlanding rainbow!
I am a lightning sudden and bright
I am the zenith, topmost of height!

Mirror

I look at myself in the mirror
and see how I feel inside looks
Love and deceit trickle down my eyes,
insecurity wrinkles my brow
Silence shatters with a roar of cries,
eternal void then casts a throw
Shadow of yesterday won't let me breath
and my heart won't let you go!

When eyes start hurting
and weeps subside
When body gives up
and I can't look anymore
I put the mirror aside
and bury my face in darkness.

Bizarre

It looked real-
the drawing on fog
settled over window pane

Behind locked doors
bizarre shapes took form
lux started to wane

The door needed the key

Summer Rain

The day was hot and dusty
My heart tired and thirsty
Walking in Sun exasperated
Value of my pearls, I debated

Miles I walked, pearls in hand
People saw them with minds in sand
Said, "Not pearls, just stones collected"
Cheek bedewed, my heart berated

Glorifying Earth when came Summer Rain
Sparkled my hand and sparkled again
Deep deep down bent nature's troy
Wet my eyes then beamed in joy!

Enigma

An enigma you are, ununderstood, unsolved
Crawling silently, a visitor uncalled
You come in and settle without a knock
And speak no words, there's nothing to talk

Face, body, colour, taste and smell you lack
Your presence is pregnant silence black
You look and find your image in my eyes
Slowly replaced by the vast skies

Wind of sorrow turbulent grips the sky tight
Poor sky is no match to the delirious might
It screams thunder and cries out rain
Then no wind or sky, only my trickling tears of pain

I need a shoulder to lean and cry
And a hand to soothe my sigh
You've caused my heart's turmoil and emptiness
I ask your identity, you say, "My name is Loneliness".

My beloved

In the twinkling midnight,
I see you, my beloved, as the Moon,
one amidst a thousand stars;
longing for me with passionate patience,
litting the heavenly dark bars.

Upon the Earth,
I stand as an ocean of love,
jewelled by your glittering light,
I treasure your silvery reflection
deep down my heart;
and with splendid delight,
I raise my watery hands
to thy affection infinite.

In love with you

Like all-night walk and morning Sun
Like laughter, claps and playful fun
Like twinkling little stars above
Like a free, high-flying dove
Like a big-big yellow balloon
Like a cold breeze on heated noon
Like the refreshing good night’s sleep
Like blue waters in ocean deep
Like the racing clouds in sky
Like adventures on mountains high
Like the joy on tickling got
Like fog’s fragrance in breathing caught
Like the fresh fresh winter dew
I am, darling, in love with you
